Our product range is vast and our store and telesales colleagues advise thousands of customers each week helping them to find the right tool for the job. Each interaction is unique, which is why we don’t just need people who are bright, enthusiastic and switched on to tools. We need a range of talents which are individually tuned. We need sales people to keep our customers buying, technical advisors who know their grommets from their widgets, Marketeers to promote our brand, and Managers to keep our people motivated - the list goes on. Developing our people

Together with promoting talent from within, recruiting people from outside Machine Mart is important to us, as it brings diversity and fresh ideas.

We're committed to helping all our team members develop at every level, so we offer excellent on the job training along with structured skills training relevant to your role.

  • Retail Store Management - 6 month management development programme, developing commercial awareness and sales focus coupled with the softer skills of leadership and effective people management
  • All Retail Sales colleagues - an in-depth day long Head Office induction covering sales techniques, great customer service, Health and Safety awareness
  • Apprentice Engineers - a targeted development plan leading to NVQ Level 3

Whether you want to join us as a Salesperson and progress through to become a Store Manager, an Apprentice Engineer working your way through to Service Manager or an Administrator and progress to Accounts Supervisor, it's up to you. All you need is a positive attitude and the will to work hard and be successful!
